Personalised
Everyone has different experiences in life and different needs in therapy. Our sessions will be tailored to your personal needs and we will follow where you are at and what you are wanting to explore. We will follow the direction you choose, and I place you in the driving seat. My role as therapist is to facilitate your exploration of “self” and help align this “view of self” with your day to day experiences and behaviours.
Positive
Sometimes life is full of joy, time to celebrate and bask in the good. Other times life can be challenging and get you down, heavy and lonely. At times in therapy we will broach challenging and sad aspects of your life. We will seek understanding at every turn, making sense of the chaos and move towards your strengths. In our sessions I bring “Unconditional Positive Regard” which involves showing support and acceptance of a person no matter what that person says or does. I work with empathy and hope that you leave each session with some greater acceptance of yourself.
Thoughtful
Sometimes it is in session that moments of clarity arrive. Other times it is after the session has finished and you are thinking about what we discussed as you move through your week. Therapy gives you a chance to hear you thoughts out loud and decide if they have merit or are serving you. As a Person Centred Counsellor my sessions are non judgemental, you can speak freely and this allows you to shed some emotional weight you maybe holding onto, or to sift through the mayhem in your head and let it flow out, making sense of the tangle that can sometimes fill our minds.
